^^Example of initial p1 positioning. Will need to actively move around and readjust due to the Surging Darkness, but this provides a rough idea.
Depending on your raid composition, it may be possible for range to simple stay spread far enough away from each other that the Eye Beam solves itself. That is, if the range can stay far enough away from each other normally, there won’t need to be any movement to deal with Eye Beam.
New Abilities
- Roiling Deceit
- Fairly strong DoT, 27k/per 3 second tick
- Upon expiration, drops a cloud
- If someone steps on cloud, a Guardian of Yogg Saron spawns
- These assholes do a Shadow Nova when they die for 67k to everyone
- We must avoid spawning adds, as more than one at a time is very likely to wipe us
- Nerubian Voidweaver
- 3 adds that spawn in a triangle formation in the center area of the room
- CANNOT BE GRIPPED
- Cast “Void Bolt”
- Interruptible
- If not interrupted, deals 76k damage to a random target
- Phase 2 Strat
- Roiling Deceit targets must move far out of the raid when their debuff is about to expire, to prevent any accidental cloud touches and add spawns
- We want the clouds as far away as possible, else this phase can get VERY out of hand, like the old Yogg Saron p1 in Ulduar
- Tank boss within cleave range of one of the adds, and just move him to another when that add dies
- Maximizing cleave damage is important to nuke boss down
- Recommended focus targeting one add down at a time, with the exception of your interrupt groups on the other 2 adds.
- Will need interrupt assignments
- ALWAYS interrupt near the end of the cast timer, as there is no lockout on these adds
- They just chain cast until they die
- Positioning - roughly same as p1, adjusted to attempt tanking boss on or near the Voidweavers.
- Drop Roiling Deceit clouds off to the sides of the room, similar location to the Eye Beam stack point in the previous graphic.
New Abilities
- Orb of Corruption
- Orb falls from the ceiling. If it hits ground, deals 61k damage per second for 5 seconds, doubling each tick
- Blows the absolute fuck out of the raid
- Must be soaked, but only by 1 person per orb.
- Orbs spawn every 15 seconds in phase 3
- Soaking an orb gives you a buff, Corruptor’s Pact
- Increases HP, Damage, and Healing by 100%
- Lasts 30 seconds
- After 30s, person gets mind controlled and MUST be killed off asap
- Also, once MC occurs, raid MUST move away and stun the MC player
- They will do an 8 yard AoE explosion, dealing 36k and fearing anyone hit
- Also cast a targeted ability, Psionic Blast, 18k and fear on a random target if it gets off
- Overload
- Makes Titan Spark zap twice as often, so every 10s
- Phase 3 strat
- Orbs must be soaked every time, or insta-wipe.
- For orbs, have highest NON EXECUTE DPS take first orb
- Then, rotate through best EXECUTE phase dps soaking
- This maximizes our p3 damage, killing the boss faster
- Lust upon first person soaking orb
- Phase 3 is basically just a race against the clock
- Positioning - same as p1.
Mythic Changes
- All phase 1 and phase 2 abilities start at the same time upon beginning of the encounter
- Only change of these abilities is the caster adds
- Every 6s, their damage increases by 5%
- After 10 stacks, adds become immune to CC
- These become priority and must die ASAP
- Keep the 2 Voidweavers in the back CC'd while you kill the one in the front
- As soon as front one dies, move boss to one of the 2 in the back, and kill that one, all while keeping 3rd add CCd
- Then kill final add
- Interrupt as many of their casts as possible
- Surging Darkness is now 4 casts, and the safe spot is randomized
- Silithid Warriors and Nerubian Voidweavers spawn simultaneously, first at 1 minute in, then every 2 minutes
- Silithid Warriors need to die ASAP on mythic
- CC is important to kill them efficiently. You should set up a simple AoE CC rotation.
- As an example, Mass Grip > Leg Sweep > Another Leg Sweep > Chaos Nova > Ring of Peace
- Ring of Peace is very strong here, and for the 2nd set of adds it's incredibly powerful. You should use RoP during the 2nd set of adds during the Surging Darkness cast.
- The goal is to kill the Warriors roughly when the first Voidweaver dies.
- Everyone should hold 2 minute CDs to kill the first set of Warriors, and hold the second use of 3 minute CDs to kill the 2nd set of Warriors.
- Roiling Deceits and Eye Beam work just like heroic, and must be handled properly. Any chaining from an Eye Beam, and someone gets 1 shot. If an extra add is spawned by a Roiling Deceit, it's most likely a wipe
- Upon Phase 3 abilities starting, adds stop spawning, but Roiling Deceit and Eye Beam KEEP OCCURING
- P3 mechanics at 40% boss HP, so still lust at the same time as on heroic
- P3 MCs from the debuff become much more important to properly manage. When the 30s debuff ends, the player casts an AoE Fear as they become MCd. With 3s left on debuff, this player must move away from other raiders. Immediately after being MC'd, the target needs to be interrupted and brought into melee range to be quickly killed off
- Death Grip is BiS. Highly recommended to bring DKs if you can.
- Also recommend having a set assigned location to stand when the MC is about to happen
- Phase 1 tips
- Use the whole room!!! My guild found that phase 1 is easiest to deal with if you have a group of 5 dps plus 1 healer assigned to be in the front of the room, with the boss facing one of the wall bits that stick out (see diagram)
- By having 6 people in the front of the room, it gave everyone much more space to spread for Eye Beam + Surging Darkness overlaps
- Phase 2 tips
- Personally, my guild found the easiest way to do this fight was with 5 healers. This helps prevent random deaths in Phase 1. Also, in phase 2, this allows you to sacrifice one healer on the first orb and another healer on the 4th orb. For orb soakers #2 and 3, we used Battle Rez to bring them back up immediately. By doing this, we effectively had all of our DPS alive for about 1:30 in phase 2, and lusted when the 2nd orb hit the ground.
Mythic Surging Darkness Overlaps
- These overlaps seem to be by far the most dangerous part of this fight, so I'm going to list out the timings and what the overlaps are
- 0:25 Surging Darkness #1 & Roiling Deceit
- 1:48 Surging Darkness #2 & Eye Beam
- For this Darkness, you need to pre-spread around the boss. Use as much of the room as possible. Eye Beam will be casting still during the first 2 safe areas.
- 3:11 Surging Darkness #3 & Adds
- 4:35 Surging Darkness #4 & Roiling Deceit
- 6:08 Surging Darkness #5 with no overlaps
- 7:00ish Eye Beams, immediately followed by Deceit. No overlap.
- 7:38ish, Surging Darkness #6 no overlaps
