ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is personal as much as it is performative. As an artist, I have moved through many mediums, from performance to installation to hybrid documentaries. At the core of this fluid approach to form are the questions: What does it really mean to be connected in a technological world, and what does it take for social forms to change?
What art classes did you take while at Crossroads? Studio Art, Figure Drawing, Photography.
How did Crossroads help to shape or influence you as an artist? Crossroads gave me the privilege of taking creative production seriously and viewing art through a critical lens.

"Teenage Mutiny UWS" is an intergenerational story of rebellion centered around the Lucerne, a luxury hotel in New York City turned temporary homeless shelter during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of several months, the Lucerne became a moral litmus test, dividing a historically liberal, wealthy neighborhood into a battleground that spanned social media, local news and eventually the Manhattan Supreme Court. "Teenage Mutiny UWS" is a hybrid documentary that captures neighborhood activism and media-spin from the perspective of a fictional "TikTok teen" @trustfundkiddy. As the events unfold, @trustfundkiddy is increasingly radicalized and motivated to address the violence of inherited wealth through an absurd tribute to Patty Hearst.
