Exhibit 7: Magazine Cover

Background
For our seventh exhibit, we were asked to apply the skills we have learned so far into a design of our own. I have several old photoshoots I have done over the years and I stumbled upon this one and wanted to see what I could implement into my new design to make it more unique. I have found that I have expanded my horizons and can see new designs I can create.
Photoshop
I went into Photoshop and didn't do a lot actually. I used the shape tool and made the squares and rectangles on the image. I then used the lasso tool to cut certain areas of the same image in a new tab, copied it, and then pasted it into the design. I used the same shape tools to make the shapes in the bottom that gives it that magazine vibe.
Design
The design I was going for was a GAP type of magazine cover look. I already created a Summer Collection one, so I decided to make a Fall article since I love Autumn. I wanted to cut out the most important parts of the image, enlarge/shrink them, and paste them into the shapes to make sure they stand out.
I used contrast when placing the cutouts in areas that stand out.
Repetition was used several times by cutting out almost the same areas, but different parts of it.
I used alignment by having Olivia be the main focus and the "FALL" be in the bottom left so your eye can go to that area after.
Proximity was used by applying the rule of thirds in several areas of the image.
The color scheme used here was fall complementary colors and colors that contrast with the colors in the background. The colors used here all unify.
