Exhibit 1: Summer Collection

Background

For the first assignment called exhibit 1, we were asked to create a design that combines graphics and text together. I run a photography business, so I have several photoshoots. This one is from last year. The reason I chose to make it look like a store poster is that I want to open a clothing line someday. Using pictures and recycling them to create new designs while I learn is a great concept and makes me see my work from a different perspective. 

Photoshop

I went into photoshop and changed a little bit of the edit I had prior. 

• 20+ brightness

• -3 contrast 

• -0.0042 offset 

• +2 vibrance

• -2 saturation

• -3 cyan

• -4 magenta

• +16 yellow

Afterward, I used the text tool to add the words "Summer Collection" and "New Arrivals 2023".  

• The yellow code is FDDA0D, 

• White FFFFFF

• Black 000000.  

For the font of "Summer Collection" 

• Sign painter

• 70 pt.

For "New Arrivals 2023" 

• Bodoni 72 smallcaps 

• 25 pt. 

Design

The design stayed almost the same when it comes to the picture. For the layout of the text, I was going for the "PacSun" or "Forever 21" vibe. The reason I went for that design is That I want to open a store that is aimed at the younger crowd. The designs in those stores are simple and clean. The text is placed so you see the title first, you see the model after, and lastly, see the date and a brief description.
