You are invited to take part in this research project, which is called Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) as a platform for professional development on teaching managing challenging behaviour. You have been invited because you are a practicing teacher within the public education system.
This Participant Information Sheet tells you about the research project. It explains the processes involved with taking part. Knowing what is involved will help you decide if you want to take part in the research.

Participation in this research is voluntary. If you don’t wish to take part, you don’t have to.

This research studies how MOOCs can be leveraged as a professional development platform for delivering theories of managing challenging behaviour.
As a participant you will be asked to provide anonymous feedback for the purpose of improving the MOOC as a professional development platform.
We cannot guarantee or promise that you will receive any benefits from this research; however, possible benefits may include an increased understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of human behaviour and practical tool for use within an education setting.
It is not anticipated that there are any risks to participation in this study beyond those encountered in everyday life.
Participation in any research project is voluntary. If you do not wish to take part, you do not have to. If you decide to take part and later change your mind, you are free to withdraw from the project at any stage.
If you do decide to take part, you will be given this Participant Information and a Consent Form to sign and you will be given a copy to keep.
Your decision whether to take part or not to take part, or to take part and then withdraw, will not affect your routine care, your relationship with professional staff or your relationship with the University of South Australia.
You are free to decline to complete the course and feedback form or to withdraw from the study at any point while completing the course. However, once you submit your feedback, we are unable to remove your response as it will be impossible to identify your completed feedback form.
By signing the consent form, you consent to the project team collecting and using information about/from you for the project. Any information obtained in connection with this research project that can identify you will remain confidential. Information collected or used will be stored as de-identified data.
Your information will only be used for the purpose of this research project. It will only be disclosed with your written consent, except as required by law.
The information that the research team collect and use is information from feedback questionnaire.
