Supporting a Successful Evaluation: Roundtable 353

Session Abstract

This last year presented opportunities to examine the protocols and processes of evaluation activities that have typically occurred in-person. The COVID-19 pandemic forced evaluators to adjust, adapt and respond to its restrictions and the way we interact with one another. Practicing flexibility, availability and positivity in spite of the adversities have proven effective. The utilization of technology in a sudden remote world enabled a group parenting intervention program (Flourish) to persevere and evaluation to follow. Successful virtual means of communication and data collection required collaborative approaches and partnerships to overcome many challenges and barriers. Listening, asking questions, problem solving and overall support have allowed the evaluation of the Flourish program to overcome many barriers and continue its activities in a meaningful way. Evaluators will discuss how data collection activities have changed as a result of the pandemic, lessons learned and how to move forward as there become less in-person restrictions.
