DISTRICT 8 4-H SURGE 2024 - LEADERSHIP CAMP FOR 9-12 GRADES
What is 4-H and what can I do as a member? 4-H is more than just a club. 4-H is an avenue to prepare young people for the future. Through 4-H you will have the opportunity to learn how to work with others, whether they are 4-H members, school mates, adults, or members of another organization.4-H members have the opportunity to go to camps, show their projects at fairs, travel, judge, make new friends from all over Texas, attend meetings and workshops with other youth, and much more!
Who can be a member of 4-H?
Clover Kids: If you are between the ages of 5 and in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, you cannot be considered an official member of 4-H, but you can be a Clover Kid. Clover Kids are eligible to participate in 4-H projects but cannot compete. Being a Clover Kid helps you to decide what projects you want to be involved in when you become a 4-H member. Annual cost of enrollment is $10.
4-H Member: 4-H is open to all children that are 8 years old and in the third grade to 18 years old. These members are eligible to compete in 4-H sponsored events. Annual cost of enrollment is $25 if enrolled between September 1 & October 31st.
Adult Volunteer: Adults interested in assisting the 4-H program can become volunteers. Volunteers are able to help with a number of items throughout the year. Our volunteers can be club managers, project leaders, chaperones or can help with refreshments and transportation to and from events. If you are interested in becoming a 4-H volunteer, please enroll online through 4-H Online and submit a $10 fee. For the protection of our 4-H members, adult volunteer enrollments are sent to the State Office where they perform background checks.
