Our 2025 Banquet was held on Sunday, August 31st
NOTICE: All 4-H members applying must sign up for an interview time and complete all necessary requirements by a set deadline each year. Award Interviews will be held at the Coryell County Extension Office.
RECOGNITION: is given each year during the Coryell County 4-H Awards Banquet - typically held in July or August
GENERAL AWARDS
Rookie Award: To recognize outstanding first and second year 4-H members. 4-H members may receive this award only one time. Applicants may be of any age. The 4-H member must meet the requirements of and turn in a 4-H Record Book. All candidates will be required to provide an interview as part of the selection process.
JUNIOR AWARDS
Rising Star Award: To recognize 4-H members who are in the 3rd - 5th grade. 4-H members may receive this award multiple times. A 4-H Record Book must be submitted. All candidates will be required to provide an interview as part of the selection process. A 4-H'er may not receive a Rising Star and Bronze Star award in the same year,
Bronze Star Award: To recognize outstanding achievements by 4-H members who are in the 3rd- 5th grade. The member must have been in 4-H for at least one year. A 4-H member may receive the award only once. The Bronze Star Award will be presented to the most deserving young people. The 4-H member must complete and submit a 4-H Record Book. All candidates will be required to provide an interview as part of the selection process. Each year a maximum of two Bronze Star awards will be given to the two most outstanding applicants.
INTERMEDIATE AWARDS
All Star Award: To recognize outstanding achievements by 4-H members who are in the6th - 8lq grade. 4-H members may receive this award multiple times. A 4-H Record Book must be turned in. All candidates will be required to provide an interview as part of the selection process. A 4-H'er may not receive an All Star and Silver Star award in the same year.
Silver Star Award: To recognize outstanding achievements by 4-H members who are 6th - 8th grade. 4-H member may receive the award only once. The Silver Star Award will be presented to two intermediate 4-H members. The member must have completed at least two years in 4-H including the current year. The 4-H member must complete a 4-H Record Book. All candidates will be required to provide an interview as part of the selection process.
SENIOR AWARDS
Outstanding Community Service Award: 4-H members in the 9th -12th grade may apply for this award. A 4-H member may receive this award only one time. The Outstanding Community Service Award winner will be selected based upon your 4-H Community Service recorded in your Record Book.
Super Star Award: 4-H members in the 9th - 12th grade are eligible for this award. 4-H members may receive this award multiple times. A Record book must be turned in. All candidates will be required to provide an interview as part of the selection process.
National Danforth "I Dare You" Award: To award 4-H members in the 9th - 12th (as of August 31st of the current year) for outstanding character. 4-H members may receive this award only one time. The requirements are the same as for the Gold Star Award andwinners will receive an "I Dare You" book and certificate. The 4-H member must submit a record book in the year he or she is to be considered for the award. All candidates will be required to provide an in-person interview as part of the selection process.
Gold Star Award: Purpose is to recognize senior 4-H members for outstanding achievement. The Gold Star award is the highest achievement award at the County level.
Qualifications:
The member must have at least completed or be completing their 9th grade school year at the time of application and must have completed at least 3 years in 4-H, including the current year.
The Texas 4-H Gold Star Award can only be awarded once in a member's 4-H career.
The 4-H member must have completed projects in at least three different project areas, submitted appropriate record forms, and have participated in one or more activities in at least three of the following areas:
Projects and/or Project Exhibits
Participation in Leadership Experiences such as Leadership Labs (SURGE), Texas 4-H Congress, or National Leadership Events such as National 4-H Congress/Conference, and any county, district, or state leadership group.
Competitive Events (judging, educational presentation, public speaking, food show, quiz bowls, etc.).
Citizenship and Community Service activities
Camps at the county, district, or state level.
4-H Promotion (speeches, poster displays, radio, TV, newspapers)
Other (includes exchange programs, fundraising)
Note: The requirements for projects and activities do not all have to be completed in the current year. They may have been accomplished over the entire period the person has been in the program.
The member must have exhibited leadership skills by serving as a 4-H officer or committee chair (club, county, district, or state), and/or as a junior or teen leader in an activity or project with or under the supervision of an adult volunteer leader.
The 4-H member must have participated in one or more community service activities. Examples include providing leadership to a One Day 4-H project, working with, or mentoring junior 4-H members; participating in community service projects (individual, group, or club); and motivating other 4-H members through participation in demonstrations, projects and/or exhibits.
The 4-H member must submit a Texas 4-H Record Book in the year they are to be considered for the award.
