The BIG Scholarship application is open to high-school seniors in 4-H in a Blackland County.
The 12 million acre B.I.G. area includes all or part of 23 counties, namely: Bosque, Bell, Burleson, Collin, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Falls, Fannin, Grayson, Hill, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Lee, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Navarro, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Williamson.

Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarships are academic scholarships awarded each year to applicants based on their academic record, 4-H experience, and financial need. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to award over $2.7 MILLION in scholarships to over 220 4-H members. The Texas 4-H Foundation Opportunity Scholarship NEW DEADLINE is February 15th by 11:59 PM. There WILL NOT be an extension on the deadline.
The Texas 4-H Foundation Opportunity Scholarship application is completed entirely online. Applicants will upload supplemental documents when completing the online application. A school official or counselor will be required to complete a portion of the online application in order for the application be considered complete. In order to qualify for a Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship, all minimum requirements must be met.
November 1, 2025 – Application will be available online
February 15, 2026, by 11:59 PM – Deadline to Apply
April 24-26, 2026 – Interviews in College Station
May 2026 – Award Notifications
June 3-4, 2026 – Scholarship Banquets in College Station

Who Should Apply: For students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited Texas College or University.
Who Should Apply: Scholarships awarded to Texas 4-H members pursuing either a Baccalaureate or Technical degree that have overcome extreme obstacles related to medical, family, and/or education and remained an active member in both 4-H and school.
Who Should Apply: For students who wish to pursue technical certification in a recognized and approved major/course of study.
