Specialized classrooms are utilized regularly in every grade, providing enrichment and hands-on learning opportunities.
All classes receive 30 minutes of library time each week, which includes story time with Cornerstone's librarian. Additionally, the students get time to browse the shelves and check out a book each week.
Cornerstone's librarian and Tech Aide are PEF funded additions to the staff.
The Science Lab is utilized and available to all first through fifth graders.
Cornerstone is one of a small number of schools that participate in the Science Olympiad, which is open to all fourth and fifth graders.
The Annual Science Night is a great opportunity for students to learn and explore, and also a fun chance for parents/guardians/family members to share their profession, hobbies, and interests with the entire school.
The Computer Lab is open and available to all Cornerstone students.
Additionally, iPads and Chrome Books (recently purchased by the Booster Club) are available to every grade, and are often utilized inside the classrooms.
Music classes are offered weekly to all grades. After practicing, students show off what they've learned at various performances throughout the year.
Cornerstone's music teacher is a PEF funded addition to the staff.
In third grade, students are introduced to reading music through the playing of the recorder.
In fourth and fifth grades, more instruments are introduced.
