First and Second Grades

First Grade Classrooms

  • When moving into first grade, students get assigned desks for the first time to foster independent learning - however, teachers continue to maintain a focus on dedicated small group learning.

  • Teaching Parents (TPs) continue to be a big part of helping to guide instruction during small group rotations.

  • Tables are located outside of the classrooms for messy projects and outdoor activities.

  • Having TPs on campus regularly allows Cornerstone to provide constant special events in each grade. Please see the Highlights section for more information.

Second Grade Classrooms

  • Second graders continue to have their own desks, but the teachers still regularly utilize the TPs to lead small group activities.

  • The presence and number of TPs on campus allows for large scale immersive activities in every grade. Please see the Highlights section for some examples of past events.
