Monks are holy warriors that often specialize in using their bare hands in the stead of any kind of traditional weapon. Today's monks are a mixture of Scarlet Crusade techniques, and ancient teachings from long-forgotten civilizations.
Go toe-to-toe with enemies, using your bare hands or a monk weapon to beat them down.
Empower yourself and your allies with holy power.
Inscribe runes onto your weapon or fists to empower your blows with magic.
Monks gain benefits when they attack with no weapon equipped. Namely, they gain an attack speed increase, and their unarmed strikes deal additional Holy damage.
Monks build Runes in combat; 10 Runes can be used to inscribe some kind of Rune on your weapon or fists, giving your next 10 auto attacks a bonus effect such as increased damage, AoE damage, healing, etc.
Monks have some utility, slight healing, and great mobility over some other more traditional melee damage classes. Monks also have the ability to mitigate some damage and generate threat. All things considered, however, playing a Monk as a dedicated tank or healer is not going to be very practical.
