Note that these two generic templates use different methods on the Transitions Mode by which one uses multiple segments and the other uses multiple text ( if needed ) within the one continuous segment ( effectively) .
Note also that such as system is somewhat redundant in relation to the other templates which use either diagonal lines or gaussian curves to depict the increase or decrease in degree over time .  The role of the vertical line is actually to depict instant, sudden change from one state to another so the only vocabulary that should appear is  that which we use to denote that sudden change.
