The teacher understands  and adheres to legal and ethical requirements for educators and is knowledgeable of the structure of education in Texas.

I chose to include my membership to ATPE as my first artifact. The reason I chose this is because this platform can advocate for the profession in different situations.  Being a part of this can help protect your rights as a teacher and also influence policy at the local, state, and federal level. Teachers use this knowledge to interact with the community

I chose the cumulative folder checklist as my second artifact. As a data clerk I know how important maintaining this record is. It has sensitive information and will tell the teacher about any attendance, report cards. 504. SPED, and LEP status. Along with this medical, information any court orders will be included in this folder. Teachers are aware of how sensitive these records are and they should be stored in the main office under lock and key.  These records are updated at the beginning and at the end of the year for maintenance.
