I chose the readers' theater as my first artifact. It promotes students' engagement and encourages student's self-motivation. Readers' theater is also a great tool for ELL students to help them acquire proficiency in speaking English.
I chose a KWL Chart for my second artifact because it helps activate prior knowledge. It also helps students visualize their thoughts. They are able to make meaningful connections to real world experiences. Students are able to express what they hope to learn from the lesson and will be able to demonstrate what they have learned by the end of the lesson. This is a great tool for the teacher to monitor the effectiveness of the lesson.
