The artifacts that I chose for competency 005 are a social contract and a seating chart for a classroom. The reason that I choose the social contract is because it reflects social-emotional learning. It helps to include students and teachers to create a productive classroom environment. It provides clear goals and objectives that are obtainable. I also chose to include a seating chart for the classroom. I chose this as an artifact because having purposeful arrangements can facilitate different types of activities. A well-planned space promotes a sense of belonging and ownership among students. The more the students feel connected and like a family, the fewer disruptions occur.
