Dr. Ernest Morrell is the Coyle Professor of Literacy Education at Notre Dame and is the Director of the Notre Dame Center for Literacy Education. In addition, he serves on the Board at Lit World. Dr. Morrell served as Macy Professor of English Education and director of the Institute for Minority and Urban Education at Teachers College, Colombia University. He served as associate professor in the Urban Schooling division of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies and Associate Director for Youth Research at the Institute for Democracy, Education, and Access at UCLA. He has been president of the National Council Teacher of English.
