Cultivating Sustainability: The School Garden
With each seed planted, knowledge, responsibility, and a deep connection to the
environment grow.
Harvesting potatoes, caring for crops, and understanding the cycle of life are
experiences that make learning even more meaningful and fun!
Our garden is also a space to explore biodiversity, where students observe
different plants, insects, and ecosystems working together in harmony.
Together, we are growing a greener future!
Cycling to School Initiative: “CicloExpresso”
The project at Escola Básica Matos Fortuna
supports the Zero Waste movement by
promoting cycling instead of car use. This helps
reduce pollution, carbon emissions, and waste
linked to motor vehicles. By lowering air and
noise pollution, it also protects local biodiversity
and natural ecosystems. Additionally, the project
encourages healthier habits and a more
sustainable lifestyle, aligning with Zero Waste
values of reducing impact and making conscious
choices in everyday life.
