Project Number: Erasmus | 2023-2-EL01-KA210-SCH-000176111
Project Duration: May 2024 - October 2025
Earth is getting warmer day by day. Besides natural reasons, human activities play an important role of the Earth's getting warmer. In this project we aim to teach our students causes and effects of the climate change at an early age. Besides, we aim to raise environment friendly habits on our students, parents as well as the community.
About the project
The project is funded by Greek National Agency (IKY) and is carried out in coordination with 4 Erasmus+ program countries: Greece, Türkiye, Portugal, Lithuania. Türkiye Eser Primary School will contribute to the project on biodiversity and ecosystems. Portuguese School Agrupamento Vertical de Escolas de Palmela will contribute to the project with recycling activities. Lithuanian School Panevezio "Zemynos" Progimnazija will work on renewable energy and conscious water consumption, and the Coordinator school, Greece Agnanteros Primary School, will contribute to the project in growing healthy plants and taking measures to reduce carbon emissions.
The project is a small-scale school partnership project and it is no coincidence that 4 countries work together. The floods and forest fires experienced in Turkey and Greece in 2023 were the starting point of the project, and these two countries established a partnership on Erasmus platforms with the aim of raising awareness of young children against climate change and contributing to reducing the negative effects of climate change. Since the Portuguese school received the 'Climate Action Project Excellence Award' and the Lithuanian school is an Eco School and electricity is consumed with the Solar Energy System in the school, it participated in the project as a partner to transfer its good practices in this field.
