Mini Lesson (30-45 minutes)
You and your group members will be doing surveys and interviews as your methods of data collection for research projects
Watch the video (ASL Version) and look at the PowerPoint slides
After completing the video and PowerPoint slides, you will be given Survey Interview Questions Guidelines. Find your group members for your Research Project - Micro and go through the guidelines together
Discuss with your group members and review your notes from research. Write down 5 causes and solutions for your topic
Then, you and your group members are to create 5 questions based on the cause(s) and solution(s). Questions must be approved by your teacher before interviewing your participants
Discuss with your group members to decide who you will interview to avoid repeated participants. Be respectful and show gratitude towards your participants. Use the table from Step Three in the guidelines to fill in with questions and tally marks
After completing interviewing your participants, count how many participants responded with 4 (very often), 3 (quite often), 2 (occasionally), 1 (very rarely), and 0 (never) for each question. Use the table from Step Four in the guidelines to count all the tally marks together. Share your thoughts about the results (Ex: I was/was not surprised to see...)
Watch the Excel Tutorial in the Tips for Research tab to help you complete Steps Five and Six in the guidelines. On Excel, you are to fill in your data and create 2-D pie charts which you can use for your PowerPoint presentation
