The Red Cross in Kharkiv - May 2022

May 25, 2022     My name is Natalia.  Before the war I worked as a veterinarian in an area where there is fighting now.  At this point I volunteered for the Red Cross.  Thanks to our sponsors in Cincinnati, we deliver aid to this "hot" area which is getting shelled.

I deliver medications and personal hygiene products.  People really appreciate them because many cannot leave their homes.  I am mobile.  I own a car and decided to help.

May our victory be closer and the losses minimal.  May our people be as healthy and happy as they can!

May 2, 2022

Since morning we have evacuated 15 individuals from Ruska Lozova in our minivan.  We got under fire by a tank.  Denis provided first aid.  We picked up one wounded person with a shrapnel wound in the shoulder and transferred him to a healthcare facility.  The other evacuees were dropped off at an assembly point and provided with food.  After that they were taken care of by the medics and social services.

Folks were some what scared.  We put one granny in an ambulance in the assembly area.  We continue to provide the help that is needed.

Today we purchased pharmaceuticals using the funds donated by our Sister City of Cincinnati. These medications will be provided to people residing in hard-to-access Kharkiv.

We continue to receive assistance from our Sister City.  This is canned chicken.  We purchased two tons in Dnipro.  Residents of our "hottest" areas will benefit from your aid.

We have just unloaded a truck.  Here is what we got: canned beef, chicken and pearl barley with beef and pork.  Now we can meet more needs of Kharkiv residents.  Thanks!

Thanks you, Cincinnatians.  We have just received vital medications for Katya, 8, who has idopathic arthritis.  Very timely!  Thank you!

We express our gratitude to Cincinnati for keeping us safe.  Thanks for all you help, for food and clean water.  And now the Red Cross will take us to a safe place to overnight.  Thanks a lot.

It's April 23.  Here is the canned meat we bought with the funds raised in our Sister City, Cincinnati.  We are so grateful!  Red Cross, Kharkiv Region, is working for our people.
