Cranley and Terekhov Sign Memorandum

The next chapter in the history of the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister City Partnership began with the Delegation led by Vice Mayor Terekhov arrived in Cincinnati in May, 2017.

The Memorandum formally recognized the new NGO: the Kharkiv-Cincinnati Sister City Partnership formed by the residents of the city of Kharkiv for more extended direct interaction with the residents of the city of Cincinnati. Specific areas for cooperation mentioned in the Memorandum include the following:

  • Energy Efficiency

  • Water Supply, sewage, water processing

  • Business cooperation

  • Corruption Control

  • Studying specifics of organizing of work of municipal police

  • Professional Exchanges

  • Culture and Sport

  • Education

  • Activities of Volunteer Organizations

Mayor Cranley and Vice Mayor Terehkov along with CKSCP President Bob Herring and KCSCP President Iryina Bakumenko signed the new 5 year Memorandum of Understanding.

Their week in Cincinnati opened with a dinner hosted by CKSCP and attended by Vice Mayor David Mann and City Council Member Amy Murray. Joining us were Joe Herrell from the University of Cincinnati and Mike Heath from Duke Energy. A visit to the Zoo, attendance at a Florence Freedom baseball game and a presentation by the Cincinnati Police on Community Policing were on the agenda.
