Barn Hunt is a fun sport for both the dog and the handler. It is all about teamwork and finding how to work with your dog to achieve a goal. The goal is to find the rat, climb the straw bales, and go through the tunnel. It may sound easy but it does take teamwork and some practice to be able to complete all three tasks in the 2 minute time frame (for the novice level). The handler must read the dogs signals as they hunt and must make the decision to call "RAT" when they think their dog has found the rat.
Most of the errors or NQ's in this sport are due to handler error. This sport is so much fun for dogs that love to follow a scent and are curious. A great prey drive is also a plus. You can find information about Barn Hunt on the Barn Hunt Association Website.
All of the Cindel dogs have had the opportunity to participate in this wonderful sport.
