Bayla is our happy-go-lucky, super-smart, extremely driven puppy! She loves to try anything that I ask her to do! Bayla is currently training for future water trials, conformation shows, and rally trials. She makes us smile every day!

We are having so much fun with this beautiful girl! She is a feisty, rowdy, naughty, and SWEET little girl. She just wants to play and have fun, and she LOVES her Pumbaa and Brinkley.
Bayla is a true Land SHARK!!!! Portuguese Water Dogs were bred to use their mouths to haul in the nets for the Portuguese Fishermen. Because of this, PWDs are known to have hard mouths, which means that they bite down on things. All PWDs need to be explicitly trained to have a soft mouth so that they understand which things are appropriate to bite down on. They can learn to have a "Soft Mouth" but it takes training and time.
The big dogs in our house try to avoid Bayla's sharp teeth. She is slowly getting better with her biting. If you follow us in our Facebook Group, you will notice that we always try to have a toy in her mouth, whenever possible. We do this because we are trying to occupy her mouth and keep her from engaging in inappropriate biting.

My air conditioner baby!!!! She loves to lay on the grate when we come in on a hot day.
Bayla loves to play "keep away" with the big dogs. They both tire each other out with the chase!
