REBRAM

In the mid-1980s, research on mycorrhizae in Brazil had aroused the interest of several researchers. As a result, the REBRAMs – Brazilian Meeting on Mycorrhiza - began to be organized. These meetings took place on five occasions between 1985 and 1994, organized by researchers from Universities and Research Institutions.

The REBRAMs were missed...it was a week of intense discussion and exchange of ideas between researchers about mycorrhizae and mycorrhizae!! The REBRAMs were an opportunity for everyone to meet some renowned foreign researchers, who Brazilians had the only known their names from scientific manuscripts. At the closing dinner of each REBRAM, there was the choice of “Miss Corrhiza”, a somewhat disputed prize that was resurrected at ICOM6 in Belo Horizonte.

As each REBRAM was special for Brazilians who now have mycorrhizae as their main line of research, each one of them will be treated separately. Click on the titles below and see what each REBRAM was:

I REBRAM – Lavras, MG

II REBRAM – São Paulo, SP

III REBRAM – Piracicaba, SP

IV REBRAM – Mendes, RJ

V REBRAM – Florianópolis, SC

In 1998, REBRAM was incorporated into a larger event, FERTBIO, together with other important Conferences, aiming to increase the interdisciplinary nature of mycorrhizal research.
