Mission and Goals

Mission

To establish, maintain, characterize and document arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal cultures for the preservation of their taxonomic and functional diversity and distribution to researchers and institutions.

Goals

♦ Obtain isolates of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in pure cultures from different regions and Brazilian ecosystems.

♦ Document, preserve, and disseminate AMF stocks present in the Collection.

♦ Promote the use of AMF pure cultures by researchers for experimental purposes.

♦ Become a reference center for deposits of fungal isolates, assisting in studies of AMF diversity and training of human resources in taxonom and cultivation of AMF.

♦ To serve as support for research and technological development actions aimed at the production of mycorrhizal inoculum.
