Material Transfer Agreement
One of the goals of the CICG is to promote the use of AMF single species cultures by researchers for experimental purposes. The current policy adopted by the CICG is to distribute inoculum of AMF isolates at no cost to researchers and students; for commercial purposes (private companies) a fee will be charged for each acession. However, to comply with brazilian legislation, a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) must be signed between FURB and the Institution that will make use of the fungal germoplasm. This MTA will be uploaded in a brazilian federal system by CICG´s curator to make the purchase/donation legal and to avoid biopiracy.
The process to obtain AMF cultures will be mediated by the CICG´s curator as a legal representant of FURB (Sender) and the researcher (Recipient).
The basic steps to obtain AMF germoplasm from CICG are the following:
1) Researcher consults the list of AMF cultures available for distribution or e-mail the curator (sidneysturmer@gmail.com or cicgfma@gmail.com) to check which isolates or species are needed and to arrange details such as quantity of inoculum available for each culture, delivery deadline, etc.,
2) Researcher reads and agrees with the standard Material Transfer Agreement (PDF file below). This MTA is the oficial document provided by the federal brazilian government,
3) Researcher provides the information requested on the MTA (Recipient as Legal Entity OR Recipient as Natural Person) to CICG´s Curator,
4) Curator fills out the MTA and send a copy of it to Researcher to be signed,
5) Researcher returns the signed MTA to Curator,
6) Curator inputs the information and uploads the MTA signed by both parts (Sender and Recipient) into the brazilian federal system,
7) Curator prints the MTA and the Shipping Receipt (generated by the brazilian federal system) and send both documents with the AMF germplasm to the Researcher.
* Payment of shipping costs will be arranged between Curator and Researcher.
** Standard amount sent for each AMF single culture is 200g.
