Schedule changes are permitted until the first 5 days of a semester class or the first 3 days of a quarter class have passed.
Changes to classes after the above mentioned deadlines will result in a WF (withdraw failing) being applied to the student’s transcript and a 50% being calculated into the student’s GPA.
Course availability is subject to change as the Master Schedule is created and adjusted by administration. Because of this, placement into requested courses cannot be 100% guaranteed.
Not every course is offered during every period throughout the day. Moving one class may not be an option based on the other classes that you are taking.
Teacher changes are not permitted without permission from administration. Counselors do their best not to place students back in additional classes with teachers they have already failed a class with, but sometimes this is unavoidable due to the construction of the Master Schedule.
Changes to lunch periods are not permitted.
Only Seniors may be granted 1 free period per semester in the form of Early Release or Late Arrival. Approval from Mr. Scott (Principal) and a signed permission form by parent/guardian is required. All other students must have 4 periods of class per day.
CCSD no longer offers a virtual program. Students may take supplemental courses online via Virtual SC or in person during the evening at the IMPACT program, in addition to their regularly scheduled courses at CHS.
Students may not receive credit for the same course twice. Elective courses cannot be taken over if credit has already been earned. If a core course is retaken, all attempts will remain listed on the student’s transcript, but credit will only be awarded for the highest grade earned.
