Scheduling & Course Requests

The Counseling Department prioritizes the placement of students into core courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) and select electives (PE/JROTC, Comprehensive Health, Foreign Language/CTE, Computer Science) that are required by the state of South Carolina for graduation. 

• Course availability is subject to change as the Master Schedule is created and adjusted. Because of this, placement into requested courses cannot be 100% guaranteed. 

• Only Seniors may request Early Release/Late Arrival. Only 1 free block per semester may be permitted. Free blocks may be during either 1st or 4th block. 

• Parental consent forms for Early Release/Late Arrival must be signed and submitted IN PERSON to the CHS Counseling Department. 

• Early graduation requests may be made by Juniors and Seniors. Final approval from the principal is required for qualifying students. 

• Schedule changes may only be made during the first 5 days of a semester course or the first 3 days of a quarter course, unless the change is necessary to accommodate graduation requirements.
