Students wishing to receive any kind of financial aid (loans, grants, need based scholarships) to attend a college/university must fill out and submit a FAFSA. 

A FAFSA is filed for an entire academic school year (ex. 2026-2027 school year) and is renewed on an annual basis. 

Any college/university that you wish to consider you for financial aid must be listed with their specific school code on your FAFSA. 

Check with individual colleges/universities for early decision deadlines. 

The 2026-2027 FAFSA is expected to open for filing October 1st.

The FAFSA requires both student and parent financial information.
