YEAR 2 - GP2
GP2 will be a combination of Practice teaching, in person TBL (team-based learning) and small online group sessions with the 2nd year medical stud
The teaching opportunity will be facilitating role-plays with students and actor facilitators in small online group session.
Teaching over 12 mornings from October 2025 to April 2026 (we are recruiting in 4 blocks of 3 days each).
Training day scheduled for Tuesday 17th September.
Payment £280 per session (1session per day).

YEAR 3 - CENTRAL TEACHING: GP Community Diagnosis (GPCD)
GPCD Tutorial Teaching:
The GPCD module explores the social and environmental factors that shape health, and what actions could be taken to address them.
This will be a 1-week online module taught over 3 consecutive weeks in January 2026 (w/c 5th Jan, 12th Jan and 19th Jan); you can apply to join one, two, or all of three weeks.
GP tutors will facilitate 2 sessions; this will be on the Monday and Friday afternoons of the week/s they are signed up to.
This will consist of 2 x 90 minute tutorials with a group of about 4 students.
Mandatory Tutor Preparation and Training session provided on Wednesday 19th November 2025, 1pm - 2pm (ONLINE)
We will circulate the sign up information in October 2025.
Payment of £280 per afternoon session (2 sessions per week)
**NEW** GPCD Drop In Session Support Tutors:
We are also introducing 2 x 1 hour Student Drop In Sessions (ONLINE) to each GPCD week on the Tuesday and Thursday (13:30 - 14:30), which will be supported by an experienced GPCD tutor.
Drop In session tutors will provide students the opportunity to discuss a range of GPCD queries, including: project selection and development, fieldwork and data collection, conducting interviews, and presentation delivery.
Training session to be provided: date and time tbc (ONLINE)
Payment of £280 per week (1 session per week) to cover both the Tuesday and Thursday Drop In Sessions.

Virtual teaching module led by community GP tutors on health equity.
Aim to make students familiar with the factors that influence health equity and the role of health care professionals in challenging them.
Students will be given materials to read in the morning with tasks.
In the afternoon they will meet virtually with GP tutor to discuss morning's information and tasks.
Support and training for GP tutors.
Each student will have 3 sessions with a Community GP tutor throughout the year.
Students are in groups of 8-10.
Timings 1.30-3.30 PM.
GP training for Health Equity will be scheduled on Wednesday 3rd September PM (exact time TBC).
Payment £280 for each afternoon session (Signed up for a sequence of 3 sessions ).

Teaching consists of four innovative days - different specialities (ENT, HCoE, Dermatology, MSK).
Interactive lectures in the morning and simulated patient surgeries in the afternoon (except Monday afternoon - ENT clinical skills).
Focus on directly observed feedback and developing clinical reasoning and management plans.
Students are in groups of 8-10.
GP tutors facilitate and teach students face to face in the afternoon sessions only.
GP training for Consultation Skills will be scheduled on Wednesday 3rd September 2025, 2.00 PM - 4.00 PM and will be face to face.

YEAR 4 – HEALTH CARE OF THE ELDERLY TEACHING
Interactive team-based morning session based on a complex case history which the students will work through together in a team.
Aim to give students an understanding of the complexity and challenges of assessing and managing health care of the elderly cases in primary care and the skills required to manage uncertainty.
Students will be allocated into small teams.
Students will be given the case history and pre-course compulsory reading material prior to the session.
Timings 9.30-12.30 PM.
GP training for Health Equity will be scheduled on Wednesday 3rd September 2025, 2.00 PM - 4.00 PM and will be face to face.

YEAR 5 - CORE CLINICAL CASES (during Year 5 GP Assistantship Block)
6-week central teaching programme to support Year 5 students and GP tutors, starting in the 2025/26 academic year (September 2025).
4 x 90-minute tutorials held on Wednesday mornings between 09:30 – 11:00 OR 11:00 – 12:30
Students will have the chance to discuss any issues or challenges from their placement in a safe space.
Each tutor group will have between 7–8 students.
Support and training will be provided for delivering the core case teaching.
£840 per block (12 hours total).
