Stardust emotes
2021 ⬤ "Starry-eyed stars"
Summary
This is a set of white pixelated animated emotes meant for Discord use, primarily featuring a star character's various emotions but also recreating a few popular emotes in the same style. These are fit for white-background use thanks to their outlines.
Overview
These 23x23 emotes, mostly consisting of stars with various little animations, are created entirely out of the colour white and the transparency behind it. Or so they were originally; in fact, they are now each 144x144 pixels, with thin grey outlines to allow them to still show up on light backgrounds. I spent a long time manually animating each of them frame-by-frame in paint.net and weaving it together afterwards in GIF websites, which the small resolution aided with, allowing me to create bouncy and expressive animations, including small details like variations in the way the small sparkles animate depending on the emotions of the star.
