Summary
This is a time-trial racing game created in UPBGE (a version of Blender that ports its removed game engine to newer versions) for a college assignment. It features one decorated track, a sense of solitude, a number of checkpoints and interesting controls where leaning forward or back on your hoverboard affects acceleration and steering inversely to each other.
Overview
This is a simple solo time-trial racing game with unconventional keyboard controls that offer three levels of steering while inversely affecting acceleration. The spacebar is held for the gas, which builds up speed as visible in a bar underneath the player in gameplay. A and D are used to steer, while W accelerates at the cost of looser steering, and S brakes with the advantage of extremely tight steering. Colliding with walls or obstacles causes the hoverboard's shields to briefly activate, slowing down the board by force. The goal is simply to navigate through the checkpoints as quickly as possible and get back to the finish line while facing challenges like tight turns, a moving barrier, and burning rubble from the flaming sunset cherry-blossom forest the race is set in. If you manage to fall out of the map, it takes the initiative and closes the program once you hit a killplane. The in-game graphics feature stylised toon shading with a focus on grey, green, cyan and pink as well as the orange skies and fires and frequent use of emission. Meanwhile, the controls image and the game's icon (and UI if it were present) use a CMYK colour scheme inspired by Persona 5's Psi family of abilities, alongside a strong teal.
