EVEN CREATIVITY TAKES WORK
The most difficult and rewarding part of creating effective visual content is the ideation process.
My process includes physically drawing different examples of images that I can choose from. The reason behind this method is that physically drawing examples, for me, inspires more creative thought. Making a connection with my work in this way pulls images that have meaning and emotion tied to them that are more likely to make a connection with my audience.
The critical test of my process is then sharing those drawings with friends and family to see if my message is being received in the way I intended. However, after receiving feedback from friends and family, I realized that my message wasn’t as clear as I thought it was because of the relationship and feeling people had with the Capitol Building.
Suffice it to say, not many people found it as positive as I did. Which led me to choose #5, that includes a silhouette of the Statue of Liberty with text reading, “Liberty, Unity, Peace”.
