The competent teacher builds and maintains collaborative relationships to foster cognitive, linguistic, physical, and social and emotional development. This teacher works as a team member with professional colleagues, students, parents or guardians, and community members.
These photos relate to collaborative relationships. The first photo shows collaborating with the school community to host a color run to raise money for the PTO where students and teacher ran. The second photo depicts collaborating, prior to a holiday, to match Halloween costumes among the special education team I was on for student teaching, which the students enjoyed and fostered good relationships.
This artifact shows the work of collaboration with a school social worker. Through my student teaching placement, we were having some issues with student behaviors, so we needed to find a simpler solution and a way to collect data on behaviors from the students. These were the pieces of information that we deemed were helpful to check in on multiple students, so I created this behavior check in form and sent it out to the classroom teachers, after my cooperating teacher and social worker informed them on what we were looking for on the form.
