This artifact is an example of differentiated spelling words for a student with an IEP. The student was struggling to go directly from an auditory prompt to writing down the correct spelling of a spelling word. This differentiation shows that the student now was given 3 different options to choose from to determine the correct spelling on the first page. On the second page, the general education students were receiving these same sentences, but the special education student was given the different highlighted colors to signify which choices they had for that particular sentence.
These artifacts are examples of lessons that were made for students who are placed in a self contained special education room. These lessons were differentiated by using minimal words and a lot of pictures to teach each lesson. Each concept is broken up into very small distinct parts to allow for better understanding.
