Making this project was very fun and exciting. I loved using the inner glow because it highlights some of Rome's best features. Over the summer my family visited Rome so that is what inspired me to make a travel poster about Rome.
I loved the creativity I put into this project. I was inspired by the pink of the background to add flamingos because I thought it would add a satire element to my project. Over all it made me laugh and feel very proud that I was able to create something others can enjoy as well.
This was inspired by the latest book I read "Love on The Brain". The main character, Bee, owns a popular Twitter account called What Would Marie Curie Do. Bee also owns a rad Marie magnet. So I combined both of them into one post to create the Bee persona. Some fonts I used was Roberto and Ariel. An effect I used was the stroke making an outline on the profile photo and the magnet.
I choose the movie 10 Things I hate about you to redesign the movie poster. I first started with the idea of using a radial collage. Then I choose the photos I thought would best capture the theme of the movie. I also knew I had to add a tagline, the date it appeared on screens, and the main stars. I then used the stroke filter to highlight each image. Also cut out some of the excess background in the photos so we could have a central image. I then tilted the 10 to make it seem more quirky.
We each picked a logo to redesign. I choose the Hermes logo because it is a bit outdated and doesn't scream luxury any more. It also only used one color to make a bit of contrast I added a second color. Then I also changed the fonts to look more like a luxury brand with a hint of that classic Hermes. I kept the horse and carriage because it ties back to the founding of Hermes. I also wanted an H that they could feature on the bag. Then using a drop shadow just made it a bit more modern and less plain.
My focus was to make a logo that captured attention and made this pet grooming service stand out from all others. I made the word Pet into a dog and then the hairbrush to make it look like it was brushing a dog. I also put in the animal silhouettes to show how many pets they can take care of. I used these colors because they looked the most like fun and groovy and would make pet owners want to come and will be safe giving their dogs to them. I really like the hairbrush and the animals. I don't feel there is anything I would change about my design.
This was just a fun extra project we got to do as a catch up day. I followed a tutorial and then chanced a few features to be more authentic to my pumpkin.
In this project were learning how to wrap different types of bottles. So we had to create a brand and pick a bottle. Then we created a label for that bottle. I made the brand Breezy. It is a perfume company. Then I created a more flower smell for the perfume. Then when wrapping the bottle I learned not just how to wrap but what might be too much wrapping on different bottles.
We have started to learn about business sets which is stationary used for businesses. I choose to make a set for my mom. She is a talent leader at GE and gets lots of traffic so I thought it would be nice to give her a business card. I made an airplane brush and then used that to create the airplanes on the top and bottom. I had to play around with the spacing of the Ge logo, her photo and her information a litle bit till I got the right design so it highlighted my mom.
The next part of the business set was creating a letterhead. I wanted to create a header and a footer on her letters. So I used my airplane brush again to create the airplanes then put in the logo and typed her information. She will most likley end up taking her information at the top out and putting it when she signs her name.
The last part of the business set was to create an envelope to mail the lettter in. I didn't want it too plain so I had to add the airplane with the wind behind it to make sure people know it is from Ge aerospace. Then I did a normal letter address with the logo in the top left and then the return address
This is what all three parts of the business set look like together.
So we were working on invitations and were creating menu cards. I choose to do olive garden because I wanted some of their breadsticks. I choose 3 food that I liked from each category and then created a menu for them.
For our final project we each choose a restaurant and are now creating a logo, invitations, social media post, menus, business card, letterhead, a restaurant image, and an optional promotional item. For my restaurant I choose the grilled cheese food truck called melted. I was inspired by the idea of melting cheese that I made the logo look like it was melting cheese. For the invitation I knew I wanted a light blue background so that it would then contrast with the yellow cheese. I choose big bubble letter font then a basic font for any other information. I put the free coupon at the bottom so people would be inspired to go. I also added the drippings of cheese at the top to relate back to the logo. Then for the social media post I wanted to have a food influencer On the menu I have 3 different section grilled cheese, create your own, and sides. I used the drippings again to keep the theme constant across all of my items. Then I added photos of some of the food. Then for the business card I had some trouble with putting the logo somewhere. But I did create a fake business owner to put on the card and letterhead. For the restaurant image I couldn't really find an image of a food truck that I wanted. So I created the plans for the food truck look that was then signed by Cathy Cheese (the owner). For the optional promotional item I designed a shirt that we could hand out or that the employees could wear well working. I really liked this project and it really challenged me and my creative ideas. I wanted this to be a fun family restaurant that would be easy and that even a picky child would love. The best promotional item would proably be the shirt but my favorite is the food truck plans. That is because I got to be really creative with it and not have a plan to follow.
