I had a lot of time over spring break to watch anything I wanted. That didn't happen though. I want to say first that I love musicals and the style of dance here really drew me into watching. The movie flew by and I was super entertained the whole time. The character development of both Ali and Tess is used in the best way possible. Ali goes from a small town in Iowa to a girl in LA who is confident and demanding. Tess goes from burnt-out business owner to having a new spark to her when Ali appears. Also, the music is so iconic the ending number is stuck in my head on repeat. I also want to point out that in the couple of things I've seen Stanley Tucci in he always plays the gay mentor which is so iconic of him.
The romance in this movie though is a bit boring and I would have liked to not have the movie centered around it toward the end. I wanted Tess to have a new debut on stage with Ali. We see her sing once and her voice is amazing. She might not be able to dance but her girls could do that for her.
Overall the movie is super easy to watch and gives you a nice warm bubbly feeling inside when you finish watching. The plot is a bit of the classic small-town girl who wants to go make it in LA. It is a good movie that you can just zone out on.
