Invert/Riverbed
Algae growth on the pile caps of the foundation because of moisture contents and shaded.
Scrubbing it and clearing the surface and checking any cavity can be concrete filled.
There is no growth of vegetation or silting on river bed .
No scour or debris accumulation was found near the foundations. The Invert level seems to be even.
Retaining walls
There is a minor depth of pointing deterioration which may be caused by water seepage from the deck.
Check that the abutment drains and weeps holes are working properly. Water seepage at cracks or joints away from the weep holes should be checked since it could indicate an accumulation of water and poor weep hole operation.
The face of the wing wall has a white powdery substance on it. Salt has migrated to the surface, frequently as a result of repointing a wall with mortar that is too firm for soft old brick. Allow water to evaporate through the mortar. Water is driven into the brick if the mortar is too firm, and when it evaporates, salts from the clay are brought to the surface.
