The purpose of the Introduction to Social and Behavior Change workshop was to improve the skillset of SBC practitioners in the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of SBC and community engagement activities.
Learning Objectives:
To be able to define SBC and describe each stage in the SBC Flow Chart
To articulate how strategic SBC can improve FP/MNCH/WASH programs
To apply the SBC Flow Chart to a priority FP/MNCH/WASH behavior
To gain skills in questioning assumptions, empathetic listening, generating insights, imagining, prototyping, monitoring and evaluating
The participatory workshop walked participants through the SBC Flow Chart, a framework used to help design SBC programs and focused on topics such as gender, empathy, audience segmentation, behavioral economics, human centered design, community engagement, and social and behavior change communication.
At the end of the workshop, participants were invited to form innovation groups in the areas of behavioral economics, human centered design, community engagement and gender transformation.
