The purpose of the capacity mapping exercise was to better understand the existing capacity and strengths of the selected organizations and innovation teams specifically around social and behavior change. The capacity mapping allowed Breakthrough ACTION to identify where additional mentoring and coaching was needed, the strengths within the teams, and how best to leverage those during the design and testing of tools.
Breakthrough ACTION conducted a rapid participatory SBC capacity mapping with individuals from the selected innovation teams: Amalna, Reproductive Health Association South Sudan and KONETA Hub. The mapping was conducted using an adapted version of the SBC Mapping Tool. Unlike other assessments, where a consultant checks off boxes on an assessment instrument and then makes recommendations to the organization, this SBC Capacity Mapping is a structured, participatory process that allows organizations to assess their own performance.
