Jaime Fagúndez

Jaime Fagúndez is a botanist and plant ecologist with a broad interest in different aspects of plant communities, habitats and species management and conservation. His research focuses on the relationship between different types of management of plants and vegetation types and preserving their ecosystem services. Using a wide range of techniques, from field surveys to landscape metrics, and from molecular analyses to Geographic Information Systems, JF covers natural habitats, rare species conservation and invasive alien species control. He currently leads two EU funded projects and participates in two more, dealing with natural habitats conservation in Natura 2000 network sites. In addition, JF lectures at UDC both at graduate and undergraduate levels, teaches general botany and related courses, and coordinates the new master degree in terrestrial biodiversity.
