Hi, my name is Guillaume Fotso, and I was born in Douala, a city in Cameroon in central West Africa. From a young age, my family has moved a lot but at this moment I live in Lexington, South Carolina. I love being active by playing soccer, biking, and weightlifting. I intend to study civil engineering with a focus on architecture, but I do hope I can continue my research with bikes. My focus for this project is to implement a biking program called Riding for Focus in Hartsville Middle Schools.
Hey y'all. My name is Jay, and I'm from Greenville, South Carolina. I enjoy biking, playing games and listening to music. In college, I plan on majoring in Civil Engineering, though I'm also interested in other topics of engineering. With Bike to the Future, I intend to focus on improving the maintenance of existing infrastructure around Hartsville. I'm interested in this since I noticed that there are areas with good sidewalks or bike paths, but they aren't maintained well enough to be usable.
My name is Meredith Morningstar and I am part of the Bike To The Future Class of 2024. I became interested in this class after learning that it specialized in finding transportation solutions in an auto-centric world. As someone who grew up with a family who loved to hike mountain trails and bike meadows, it became important to me to seek out the advancement of recreation parks and green space. I am also passionate about connecting everyone to their town/city’s community through transportation. My work in this class consisted of connecting the city of Hartsville through different bus-related initiatives.
Hello! My name is Sara and I live in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. I plan to study environmental studies and a social science to eventually work in urban design, city government, or advocacy work. My dream is to work for the National Park Service for a season or two. In this class I am focused on creating a document with a database of projects happening within Hartville on a local and government level, sharing my observations of current infrastructure, sharing case studies, and providing opportunities for the city to improve.
