Hey, y'all! I'm from Seneca, SC, and I enjoy recreational mountain biking. I'll be pursuing a psychology degree with a pre-med focus at the College of Charleston as an Honors College Charleston Fellow. My work this year focuses on including youth voices in municipal governments to increase city recreational event attendance. I've also done work on park accessibility and perceptions of safety within public leisure spaces. Though it's not technically my major, I hope to continue working on similar research in college.
Salve! My name is Alex Minnich and I am a competitive mountain bike racer from Tega Cay, SC. I race with the Catawba Ridge Riders in the South Carolina Interscholastic Cycling League. I'm interested in bike availability and maintenance, as well as path infrastructure. I love riding and always try to get out and ride!
Remember: Ride Bike, Eat Cookie!
Hi! My name is Julia, and I have lived in Branchville, South Carolina my whole life. I plan to study psychology, possibly focusing on animal behavior. I enjoy hiking and just being out in nature. I love animals and plan to work in activism in the future. My focus for this semester is creating equitable green spaces that will be used as communal gardens in Hartsville.
Hello! My name is Nathan and I have lived in Duncan, South Carolina after living in Detroit, Michigan for 14 years. I am interested in working at either the federal or the municipal level. In my free time I enjoy playing golf (even if I am horrible at it) and video games. My work this semester will be bike/pedestrian organizational projects in order to connect GSSM to the city of Hartsville as well as providing economic development to the city of Hartsville.
Hi! I'm Marah and I live in Taylors, SC. I am studying green recreational space access on public transportation in rural areas. In college, I will be double majoring in chemistry and geology with a concentration in marine sciences. I hope to become a chemical oceanographer and use what I have learned in this course to help heal our oceans through chemistry. I love folding origami, especially kusudamas, and painting with watercolors in my spare time.
Howdy, I'm Harrison! I'm from Florence, SC, and I've lived there all my life. I am interested in pursuing urban planning as a career field with a focus on human/pedestrian infrastructure, so this class is up my alley (pun intended)! In this class I focus on economic development through residential schools, focusing on Florence and Hartsville as examples.
