PATCH 11.2 AND SEASON 3 NOW LIVE, CHANGES TO BANK, BIS RINGS, ETC.
This is a list of suggested MAIL items. If things do not have suggested additional sockets or rarity procs, they may be similar or inefficient to use comparable to alternatives. If a rarity proc is suggested, it is because the item is less valuable in it's current state. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EPIC AND RARE GEAR IS NOW MOSTLY NEGLIGIBLE. Farming warforged gear is ill-advised due to lack of stat benefit compared to pieces with more than one socket. You can also use level 8 green socketed BOEs for any of these slots, but those are most useful at level 10, and lose value as you go into the 11-12 range. Finally, your character will not explode or be significantly awful if you don't have the suggested items, you'll just have a harder time.Â
These pieces are an exceptionally higher item level than normal drops, but do not drop with terts or sockets. These can only drop on TIMEWALKING difficulty, and are only accessible during their related Timewalking rotation week.
These pieces are consistent, fine without the suggested procs, and can be farmed for repeatedly. Similar pieces will work too, so don't worry too much if it's not the exact piece listed. These can only drop on NORMAL difficulty.
Drops from specific rares in Draenor, called Apexis Rares, can socket on any slot. They can also proc with terts. These can be farmed once a day without help from outside toons, and can be traded if first chance. List here.
Drops from the zone Tanaan Jungle are item level 44, can have higher stats and can socket on any slot. Either have a high level trade it down to you or loot it in Lorewalking.
IGNORE BALEFUL GEAR TOKENS.
Pieces that are only exceptional if certain qualifiers are met, and/or cannot be easily farmed for due to being often once-per-toon or other obstacles. The origin of these is usually quests, rares, or random procs on drops.
The listed items (not the category explanations) are listed in left to right order of preference - or up to down, if you're on mobile. Socketed pieces are generally the most recommended to chase for, but it may vary for each spec.Â
