This piece of music is about home and place. It is unusual because there are no instruments used – only voices and what we call ‘body percussion’! Children were asked to think about their home and the place where they live and send in a poem. These poems were linked together to make the piece of music.

While you listen to it, look out for the different types of body percussion that the children use.
When there is singing and no instruments, it’s called ‘a cappella’
Try some of these activities:
Can you invent some body percussion and compose some rhythms – use your feet, hands, chest, arms.
Try rhythms using words and phrases such:
“Use my hands, use my feet”…..
“In my home, I eat tea”…..
“Bedford is the place to be” ……
Listen to my versions. Can you figure out how I’ve done each rhythm?
If anyone else at home can join in, give them their own phrase to say or play with body percussion. Try them one at a time and then put them together!
Use body percussion to join in with the video performance. Imagine that you are there, on stage, with them.
Draw a picture or write a poem about where you live.
