Capitol Corridor trains operate via Union Pacific trackage. For more information, visit our CC General Information page and our UP Maps page.
Operating along the UP Coast, Niles, and Martinez Subdivisions, the Capitol Corridor route is most busy between Oakland Jack London Square and Sacramento (Oakland Coliseum during baseball season). With 16 intermediate stops between San Jose and Auburn, this state-funded system is a backbone for commuters coming from the Central Valley into the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. With connections to Caltrain at San Jose and Santa Clara-University, one can easily take an all-railroad journey from Sacramento to any Caltrain station on the Peninsula. ACE transfer stations include Santa Clara-University, Santa Clara-Great America, and Fremont. There are also VTA connections in San Jose and Great America, as well as BART connections at Oakland Coliseum and Richmond. (BART offers a airport shuttle to Oakland International Airport from the Coliseum station). SRT (Sacramento Regional Transit) is also an available connection at Sacramento. Numerous stadiums and parks are accessible by Capitol Corridor trains, including the SAP Center in San Jose, Levi's Stadium and California's Great America at the Great America station. It's namesake baseball stadium is easily walkable at the Coliseum station, as well as the minor league Sacramento River Rats at the Sacramento station. Amtrak California provides bus services to destinations not served by Capitol Corridor trains, based out of San Jose (Santa Cruz), Emeryville (San Francisco), Martinez (Napa Valley), Sacramento (South Lake Tahoe), and Auburn (Truckee).
