March 2-6, 2020

Two weeks left until spring break. We will be going through the last part of the book quickly. We will roughly spend two weeks per chapter. We will also begin afternoon review sessions. Also, the AP weekend review is next weekend (The one coming up) it will be held at WSHSH on Saturday in two sessions am and pm. I might have flyers by Monday, but I actually haven't seen the sign up request via email. I will be giving a diagnostics test over Chapters 4-7 if you are interested. This is not required but will give you some idea on where and what you need to start reviewing for the exam. These will also be how I will reveiw for the exam. After school and Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and sometimes Wednesday's if there is no faculty meeting. You will be available to take a diagnostics test for the Rubeinstien textbook. I have it broken down to almost the page and paragraph you do not know. The idea is that you take the test, create a hierarchy of study based on the chapter. If you miss more questions on page 18 than on 20, it shows you need to study page 18 before you study 20, etc, etc. FRQs will also be available, but I might need a little more time to prep those!

THE TEST OVER POLITICIAL GEGORAPHY WILL BE THE THURSDAY BEFORE SPRING BREAK.

It's also project time! This project will be due week after Spring Break, think thats 4 weeks from now.. This is one of my favorite projects. You will redraw the countries of Africa based on current world maps. See a long time ago Europeans began to take over Africa. They delineated area regardless of languages, politics, economics, ethnicities, and etc. This lack of consideration made illogical borders. Now today, Africa is one of the most underdeveloped places in the world. Still struggling to restructure and reorganize themselves. Your goal is to redraw Africa to create productive and meaningful socieites. You will consider all the elements we have already learned to create a new Africa. You will use and consider religion, ethnicity, language, population, migration and other things we really haven't learned yet, politics, manufacturing, agriculture, and services. Please use this link to help you get a better understanding. You may have only 4 people in your group, they do not have to be in your class. No more-don't even ask. You will turn in your groups to me by WEDNESDAY of this week. We will have bi-weekly check ins.

Here is the rough calendar expectations:

    • Week 1. Make your own groups. Select a lead. The lead is the main one responsible for the others in the group. Does not mean they get to do nothing. They will be the liason between me and your group. As a group you will create timelines and turn in updates to me in the bin.
    • Turn in group members by Wednesday.
    • Friday. Member assignment tasks and job assignments.

Week 2. You will create a timeline of expectations together.

    • Wednesday: All timelines will be turned in to me. Each timeline will have a Monday and Friday deadline. That gives people weekends to work and the weeknights to accomplish something.

Week 3. Spring Break Week. This should be the writing and design week. There will be no turn in dates for this week.

Week 4. Monday: Status report turned into me by Monday after school.

Friday: Project due.

Since I am short on time (as always) Your definitions will have two parts. DEFINTIONS WILL BE DONE VIA QUIZIZZ. You will create definitions in Quizizz. By Friday, you bring in your game code. Please be respectful when making the Quizizz. Must have 5 choices in the answer and wold prefer the questions to be examples or real situatuons taken from the book if you can. Please don;t be lazy and cut corners. We will have class competition on Friday for the defintions. Might be flashcard based...might Quizizz based. Depends on my mood AND YOURS!
