Christine Apiot

Christine Apiot Okudi is a dedicated and accomplished educationist with over 15 years of experience in education programming and child development. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, University of Toronto. 

Christine is passionate about ensuring every child, particularly the less privileged girl child in Uganda, has access to education. She leverages her extensive expertise in education in her research and policy development work as part of the Echidna Global Scholars Program at the Center for Universal Education (CUE) at Brookings. 

In addition, Christine is a co-founder of the Learning and Action Alliance for Girls Agency (LAAGA), a community of practice established by scholars to catalyze and amplify the impact of local leaders working to advance gender-transformative education across the Global South. 

She collaborates closely with the gender unit of the Ministry of Education and serves as the vice chairperson for the Forum of African Women Educationalists FAWE(U) in Uganda. Her work is a testament to her commitment to social justice and education for all.
