Rescuing a Bad Composition

"Doodle Bug" was placed on the page rather badly. THis is what happens when you don't draw with pencil first... but that is a choice I usually make. I like drawing directly on the paper. But sometimes the result... needs a bit of fixing.

Unfortunately, I had alread trimmed the doodle bug before I remembered to take a picture of what he looked like before the fix....

Trim. Add Border/Frame

One of the simplest ways to rescue a bad compositionis to trim the card down, then mount it on a backing.

Black and white pen and ink drawings, mounted on a piece of 2.5" x 3.5" black card stock, look like they have been framed.

The Doodle Bug has been rescued!

Another Poorly-Composed Drawing....

I failed to position the hole punch drawing in an interesting manner. I don't mind that it didn't fit on the page... but I left too much white space on the bottom. I added a few circles, and it MIGHT have worked if I had added more, but I decided to go in a different direction.

There was SUPPOSED to be a bit more of a tilt... but it was a bit tricky to line up that bit of white paper so that it matched the diagonal black line.

But I think it is more interesting thatn the original drawing, and I love experimenting with this kind of thing.
