Pleiades (M45)

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters or M45, is one of the most famous and easily recognizable star clusters in the night sky.  

Key Features:

• Open Cluster: It's an open cluster, a group of loosely bound stars that formed from the same giant molecular cloud.  

• Young Stars: The Pleiades is a relatively young cluster, with an estimated age of around 100 million years.  

• Blue Stars: It contains many hot, blue stars, which give the cluster its distinctive appearance.  

• Reflection Nebula: The Pleiades is associated with a faint reflection nebula, where the light from the cluster's stars is reflected by surrounding dust.  

• Mythology: The Pleiades have been observed and mythologized by many cultures throughout history. In Greek mythology, they are the seven daughters of Atlas.
